I could watch this all day...
the girls anxiously waiting to be called to the floor
So this has been a loooonnnnggg weekend filled with lots of fake hair, hairspray, 15 yr old girls and puke!!! That's right, we had our State competition this weekend and I'm sooooo happy to say that our girls WON!!!!1st place!! They pulled off a p e r f e c t routine despite one of our girls getting the flu and throwing up 3 times right before we took the floor(bless her heart), they did it! They worked so hard this year and the countless hours my other coach and I spent working and reworking this years routine has paid off! The bus rides, basketball games, 7 day-a-week practices, being away from my husband, nose bleeds and tears have finally paid off and were so worth it! I'm so proud of my girls, they worked so so hard! We had a police escort into town with about 20 parent cars behind the bus, we made quite a scene! The police blocked all the intersections so we could just ride right on through! The girls loved it, they had the windows down, heads sticking out the windows yelling the whole way through town! They are now, what we always knew they were, the #1 JV cheerleading team in Illinois!!

Between all the craziness of the holidays and just life some pictures never made their way to the blog. So here are some pictures from Christmas, Katie's baby shower, CGC Christmas Progressive Dinner, our little sibling sleepover (where Erica and I updated Chad on all the good movies he missed while on his mission!) and Katie and I at our "last girls night out before babies". All these events are just as important as anything else posted so I just had to get them up here! My two FAVORITE boys!

What does he know.....right?
PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – The world's most famous groundhog saw his shadow Monday morning, predicting that this already long winter will last for six more weeks.
Punxsutawney Phil emerged just after dawn in front of an estimated 13,000 witnesses, many dressed in black and gold to celebrate the Pittsburgh Steelers' Super Bowl victory the night before.
"There's significant buzz from the Steelers win and quite a few Terrible Towels floating from the crowd," said Mickey Rowley, deputy secretary for tourism in Pennsylvania.
The annual ritual takes place on Gobbler's Knob, a tiny hill in Punxsutawney, a borough of about 6,100 residents some 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club announced the forecast in a short proclamation, in which Phil acknowledged the Steelers' 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.

Steeler Nation
Once a fan always a fan! Go Steelers! In Pittsburgh the brainwashing begins at an early age. By 4th grade I was a full fledged member of the Haine Elementary School Steelers Fan Club. We made signs for games, we were even able to take and all access tour of Three Rivers Stadium! We met some players, got autographs...it was great! Just to sum it up...tomorrow all the schools are opening up 2 hours later so the kids could all stay up and watch the game! Now that is devotion to your team!
