Mike and Jason have been trying and trying to talk Lauren and I into going camping for over a year now. Unfortunetley it hasn't worked out, with me working Saturdays and everyone else Mondays there just wasn't time in the schedual. So of course when Memorial Day rolled around how could we say No. Well, this year the Mid West has had a trementdous amount of rain, nasty thunderstorms, and of course tornadoes "So (I said to myself) maybe not the year for sleeping in the outdoors". Against our better judgement Lauren and I agreed. I just kept telling myself,"When will me get another chance, there is only a 30% chance of big deal." We got our camp site set up, pulled everything out of our car, Mike and Jason got a roaring fire going, and Lauren and I made dinner. As we were wrapping up dinner Lauren and I heard a little rumble....I think you can see where I'm going...The rumble turned in to the biggest thunderstorm EVER!!! I mean it didn't help that we were sitting outside in the middle of it. It was raining so hard and the ground is already so saturated the water started pooling up all around us. After sitting in the storm for probably 30 min we decided to make a run for it! We grabbed the food left the tents and ran to the car. On our way home we passed a car that ran into a pool of water that had collected on the road, the water was up to the windshield!! Jason and Lauren ended up staying here for the night. We woke up the next morning and went back to get our tents and canopy. Well- the canopy was nowhere to be found, all that was left was the four poles that were holding it up.
Our tents were flooded....So never again will I go against my "better judgement"!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Another year older!

You got it! I just wrapped up my Birthday week!!=) I don't have too many pictures, but just to

share a are some of us at dinner. This wasn't supposed to be my Birthday celebration dinner, but thanks to my WONDERFUL husband that is what it turned into!! My sister-in-law and I decided to go out to dinner this past Friday so we let Mike know he could meet us up there if he wanted to since it is one of our favorite places to eat. Unfortunately they have this ridiculous birthday tradition, they have this LOUD LOUD LOUD musical instrument that they spin around and clap and sing "happy birthday" in Spanish-AND make you wear the biggest sombrero I've ever seen before!! It kept falling over my eyes!! I was laughing soooo hard! I could have killed that man of mine!! Oh well, we all got a good laugh out of it! If you are wondering about the blurry picture... the restaurant takes your picture during the festivities and hangs it on the wall, this is a picture of that picture...tooooo much fun!

Loves In Bloom!!!!!

The other day I was standing in our bathroom, I looked out the window and noticed big purple blooms on a bush in our front yard. So of course I had to go and check it out! Turns out we have a lilac bush in our front yard! I was so excited! This is our second summer in our home and this bush for some reason never bloomed last year. It was such a surprise! I just love flowers so I thought I'd post some pictures of the flowers we have in our yard. After all It takes a lot of work to keep these babies watered in the summer!!

Unfortunately not all of our flowers are this mature yet, but its exciting to think they will all look like this someday!! I know I'm crazy, but I love my flowers!=)
